Ocala, FL (August 13, 2020) — The Community Foundation for Ocala/Marion County announces a community day of giving – Give4Marion – coming Tuesday, October 20, 2020. Beginning at 10 a.m., this 24-hour fundraising event offers people a convenient way to give to multiple organizations of their choice quickly and easily through a single platform. Anyone with an internet connection and a credit card can donate online. Offline gifts of checks and cash will also be accepted. With at least 100 nonprofits expected to participate, individuals and businesses will be able to easily support causes they are passionate about and make a real difference in the Marion County community.
“Give4Marion is going to be a first for our community, and we can’t wait,” said Lauren DeIorio, President & Executive Director of the Community Foundation for Ocala/Marion County. “Other community foundations around the state have been doing these for years, and it’s time to bring this to idea here.”
Give4Marion provides nonprofit organizations the opportunity to reach thousands of new potential donors and boost their visibility throughout this campaign. The Foundation invites 501 (c)(3) nonprofits to register now through October 1.
“We have been planning this giving day for a while,” said Deiorio. “With all the economic impacts our nonprofits have experienced through the coronavirus, including cancelling of so many fundraising events, there’s no better time for our community to come together, as one, and truly ‘Give4Marion!’”
